Lara Bettaney Head RVN, Ncert NCS Dip NCS (RVN Cons)
Head Registered Veterinary Nurse
I started my veterinary career in 2009 and have worked at Star since 2018. Since graduation, I have undertaken further training in canine behaviour, dentistry and physiotherapy and have been awarded with a certificate in rabbit treatment.
I am also a qualified clinical supervisor which means I get to teach our students – a part of my job which I thoroughly enjoy. I am now studying for a further certificate in advanced consulting alongside working as Head RVN at Star.
Aside from supporting the team and admin duties, I spend my time conducting clinics, anaesthesia and inpatient care.
Outside of work, I live with a ‘Dogs Trust Special’- Swayze, nobody knows what breed(s) he is but he’s definitely unique! I also have two rescued house rabbits- DeVito and Django.. and Kellypants – a goldfish who was left to me in a will! I also have a human baby boy and a long suffering husband. I enjoy travelling and have lived in the Middle East and road tripped around many parts of the USA. I enjoy reading, learning and going to gigs and festivals. I love bats, ravens (all corvids!) and horror movies and my dream is to open a bat sanctuary one day!
