End of life care at STAR Vets
The death of our pets is an event that we all fear. Veterinary Surgeons euthanise, or ‘put to sleep’ pets either because pets are in intractable pain, or their quality of life has deteriorated beyond an acceptable level.
The whole team at STAR Vets feel that helping their clients make the decision to stop their pets suffering and let them walk over Rainbow Bridge, is one of the biggest honours of the profession. Every member of the team has lost a much-loved pet and member of the family and they are truly able to empathise.
Making this decision as their owner (with the guidance of your Vet) truly is a gift, no matter how heart-breaking it can be.
“When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not there to see; The sun will rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and petted me with her hand. I thought about our lives together, I know you must be sad. I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had. So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we are apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.” (Author unknown)

Pet cremation services
A pet cremation service, where clients can choose to have their pet cremated individually and have their ashes returned to them, is available. This service is provided by a wonderful, independent, family-run company called Kings Hill, who are licensed to carry out pet cremations. You can discuss all of the options available with our team, who will then take care of everything for you.
Established in 2002, Kings Hill Cremations are based in Nuneaton and offer a very personal and caring service for pets. Find out more: www.kingshillcremations.co.uk
